Multifunctional Coatings and Nanocomposites

The group has been working on multifunctional coatings and nanocomposites for many years. Currently, the research group is implemented by three professors and about 15 graduate students. Recent research activities include developing fundamental knowledge on the production of thin films, characterization and applications of these films; development of metallic nanoparticle biocide-doped antibacterial materials; bioinspired material synthesis routes; development of hybrid multifunctional multilayer composites; mechanical characterization of coatings and natural nanocomposites. The group has a good international connections and a strong interaction with the other Turkish universities.
